Dejor by DeepSoll / WhatsApp commerce

Shopify WhatsApp cart recovery, in a thread people read.

An opted-in WhatsApp reminder gives customers another way to return to an unfinished checkout. Dejor by DeepSoll picks up abandoned Shopify checkouts and sends a timed reminder to the customers who agreed to hear from you.

Pick up the checkout Shopify already recorded

When a customer reaches checkout and leaves, Shopify records it. Dejor reads that event, keeps the cart summary — how many items, what they came to — and schedules a reminder rather than firing one the instant someone steps away from their desk.

Only to customers who agreed to be contacted

Recovery messages go to customers whose marketing consent is recorded on the checkout. That limits your reach and it is the correct trade: an unconsented recovery message is the fastest way to lose a WhatsApp number, and it breaks marketing rules in most of the markets worth selling to.

A reminder that can answer the reason they left

Plenty of carts are abandoned over an unanswered question — will it fit, when does it arrive, can I return it. Because the reminder arrives in the same conversation as your shopping assistant, the customer can simply ask, instead of starting over on your site.

An abandoned cart WhatsApp message example

Illustrative copy: ‘Hi {{1}}, you left items in your cart at {{2}}. Return to your checkout: {{3}}. Have a product question? Reply here. To stop reminders, let us know.’ Replace the placeholders with the customer name, store name, and checkout link. This is an example, not a Meta-approved template: submit your actual message for review and send only after approval, to customers who opted in.

Choose a Shopify abandoned cart app for your workflow

Check whether an app uses the official WhatsApp Business API, sends from the number you own, respects recorded consent, and lets your team handle replies. Compare the reminder timing and your plan’s recovery allowances. Dejor brings these checkout reminders together with AI shopping assistance and product reviews; measure completed purchases rather than treating every delivered reminder as a recovered sale.

Separate app allowances from WhatsApp charges

Your Dejor plan determines the recovery features and allowances available to your store. Meta’s WhatsApp messaging fees are separate and billed through your own Meta business account. Review both before enabling reminders; an included recovery allowance does not mean Meta message delivery is free.

Connect WhatsApp communication with shopping assistance and product reviews in Dejor for Shopify.

Getting started

Make it work for your store.

  1. Install Dejor, connect WhatsApp Business and confirm your checkout webhooks are active.
  2. Prepare the abandoned checkout template and submit it for WhatsApp approval.
  3. Set the delay before a reminder is sent, and confirm the consent rule you are applying.
  4. Abandon a test checkout yourself, then check the message, the cart summary and the reply path.

Your questions, answered.

Who receives an abandoned checkout message?

Customers whose marketing consent is recorded on the abandoned checkout. Dejor does not message customers who have not agreed to be contacted.

How soon is the reminder sent?

It is scheduled rather than immediate, so the customer has a chance to come back on their own first. The delay is configured in the app.

Can the customer reply to the reminder?

Yes. It arrives in a WhatsApp conversation, so a customer can ask the question that stopped them, and your team or the assistant can answer in the same thread.

What is Shopify WhatsApp cart recovery in Dejor?

Dejor reads an abandoned Shopify checkout and sends a timed WhatsApp reminder to customers whose marketing consent is recorded. The reminder can carry the cart summary and a link back to that checkout, and the customer can reply in the same thread. Checkout stays on Shopify. A delivered reminder is not a recovered sale.
