This Privacy Policy explains how Deep Shopping Agent collects, uses, stores, and deletes information when merchants use the Shopify app, when shoppers interact with the storefront assistant, and when visitors browse this website. It is intended to support Shopify App Store review requirements and to give merchants a clear description of our data handling practices.

1. Scope

Deep Shopping Agent is a Shopify app that helps merchants offer an AI-powered storefront assistant. This policy covers data collected through the public website, the embedded merchant admin experience, and the storefront assistant shown on a merchant's Shopify storefront.

Merchants remain responsible for their own storefront notices, consent practices, and customer-facing policies where required by law.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on how the product is used, we may process the following categories of information:

  • Merchant account and store information, such as the Shopify shop domain, app session data, app configuration settings, selected plan, and embedded app usage needed to operate the service.
  • Storefront conversation content submitted to the AI shopping assistant, including shopper questions and assistant responses needed to provide the chat experience and usage insights.
  • Customer account authentication data when a shopper chooses to connect a customer account flow supported by Shopify, including temporary authorization artifacts and short-lived access tokens required to complete that shopper-requested action.
  • Technical and diagnostic information such as request metadata, timestamps, and application logs needed for security, troubleshooting, and service reliability.
  • Website analytics and tag-management data on this website, including information related to page visits, traffic source, and usage events configured through Google Tag Manager.

3. How We Use Information

  • To authenticate merchants and operate the Shopify app.
  • To generate storefront assistant responses and related shopper actions.
  • To save merchant-configured assistant settings and plan state.
  • To measure product usage, identify errors, and improve reliability.
  • To support billing, review, abuse prevention, and security monitoring.
  • To understand website traffic and marketing-site performance.

We do not sell merchant or shopper personal information.

4. Shopify and Service Providers

Deep Shopping Agent uses Shopify platform services and APIs to authenticate merchants, render embedded admin functionality, and support storefront and customer-account features.

We may also use service providers to host the application, store operational data, deliver analytics, and power AI responses. These providers process information on our behalf only for the purpose of operating, securing, and improving the service.

For example, merchant and shopper requests sent through the AI assistant may be processed by our AI model provider to produce the requested response.

5. Retention and Deletion

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the app, maintain security, support merchants, and comply with legal obligations.

  • Merchant session records are retained only as needed to keep the app installed and functioning.
  • Shopper conversation records and related operational data may be retained to provide product functionality, plan usage metering, and merchant insights.
  • Short-lived customer authentication records are retained only as long as necessary for the associated customer account workflow.
  • When the app is uninstalled, or when a supported Shopify redact workflow is received, we delete associated shop data from the application datastore as required for app operations and Shopify compliance handling.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but we design the service to limit access to operational data and to support secure transmission over HTTPS.

7. Merchant Rights and Choices

Merchants can stop further processing by uninstalling the app. Where Shopify sends compliance requests such as shop redact, customer redact, or customer data requests, we process those requests in accordance with the app's implemented compliance workflows and Shopify requirements.

Merchants should also review their own storefront disclosures and legal obligations for any shopper-facing use of AI, cookies, or analytics.

8. Website Analytics and Google Tag Manager

This website uses Google Tag Manager to manage analytics and related measurement tags. Google Tag Manager is a tag deployment tool. It can be used to load analytics and measurement scripts configured for this website.

Depending on the tags configured through Google Tag Manager, website visits may result in the collection of technical and usage information such as page views, referrer data, browser information, and interaction events. Merchants and visitors should review their browser settings and consent tools where applicable.

9. Children

Deep Shopping Agent is intended for business and commerce use. It is not directed to children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product, legal, or operational changes. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date shown on this page.
